Net Zero Carbon Construction As Standard

At Prologis, we’ve always put sustainability at the very heart of our business. That’s why every new Prologis building in the UK has been net zero carbon in construction for more than a decade (based on the UKGBC Net Zero Carbon Framework). For our customers, sustainability is part of the package when they choose a Prologis building: it’s our standard, not a luxury.

Carbon Reduction Through Collaboration

Our partnerships are key to our net-zero carbon success. We proudly work with the sustainability certification body, Planet Mark and Cool Earth, a charity dedicated to protecting endangered rainforests in order to combat global warming. This has meant that we are the first property company in the UK to measure, reduce and mitigate the carbon emissions embodied in the structure and fabric of our new buildings.

So Much More Than Four Walls And A Roof

As well as reducing the unavoidable (embodied) carbon produced during the construction of our buildings, we also design warehouses that help our customers make smart decisions too. By adopting some of our passive design measures, our customers reduce their energy demands, while reducing their operational carbon footprint. This includes improved air-tightness, floor space planning, maximising the use of daylight and even roofing systems that avoid wasted space above the haunch. With such measures, maximising cuts to heating or cooling, and the associated CO₂ emissions within the warehouse are immediately possible.
