Prologis’ decade-long support raises over €1m for Stelvio for Life Foundation

Prologis Europe has reached a remarkable milestone, raising over €1 million in support of the Stelvio for Life Foundation through its decade of participation in the Stelvio for Life Challenge.

The extraordinary event challenges participants to hike, run or cycle 21 kilometres up the iconic Passo dello Stelvio from Bormio, Italy, all in pursuit of one life-changing goal: funding personalised, DNA-based cancer treatments.

Thanks to the unwavering commitment of its sponsors and participants, Prologis Europe raised over €200K in 2024. Every step, every pedal stroke and every breath taken by the 60-person Prologis team represented hope for cancer patients. Team members climbed a gruelling 1,533 meters of elevation, raising a minimum of €1 for every meter ascended. All funds raised go directly to supporting cutting-edge cancer therapies.

Prologis first embraced this cause in 2014 and over the past decade, the Stelvio for Life Challenge has become a symbol of purpose and solidarity for more than 300 of its employees. This year’s event, held on 31 August, saw participants from Prologis' offices across Europe, united in their commitment to make a difference.

From the UK, five participants took part in Stelvio for Life - Danny Bostock hiked the pass, Kathryn Bird & Gillian Scarth cycled whilst Tom Osborne & Rob Poole undertook the XXL version of the event, a challenging 104 km bike ride, climbing up the Stelvio pass from two different sides and finishing on the town square in Bormio.

Han Hoekstra, VP of Treasury at Prologis and a passionate participant for all 10 years shared his personal connection to the cause: “Each time I cross the finish line, I’m overwhelmed with emotion. I know we are climbing for more than just ourselves—we are climbing to give others a chance at life. The therapies funded through Stelvio for Life have a 30% success rate. That makes every meter we climb and every euro we raise deeply meaningful.”
