Prologis, the global leader in logistics real estate, and joint venture partner Wittington Investments (Developments) Limited, today announced that they will speculatively develop a 213,526 square foot distribution centre at Prologis Park Fradley in the West Midlands.

Designed to achieve a minimum BREEAM ‘Very Good’ accreditation and the best possible EPC rating for its size, the speculative building will include a rooftop solar installation that will generate 10 percent of the building’s regulated energy. Completion is expected in early 2018.

The new facility will be built next to the 562,000 square foot distribution centre that Prologis is currently developing for multi-channel trade retailer Screwfix. In an established industrial location, Prologis Park Fradley is next to the A38 north of Lichfield and close to the M42, M6, M6 Toll and M1 motorways.

“There is strong demand for modern distribution facilities in the West Midlands,” said Andrew Griffiths, managing director, Prologis UK. “Our customers rely on us to provide modern, high-quality facilities in prime locations, so we agreed with Wittington that this new building at Prologis Park Fradley should be the next step in our speculative development programme.”

Prologis owns and manages approximately 24 million square feet of logistics and industrial space in the UK as of June 30, 2017
