Working to raise net zero carbon understanding

With the built environment responsible for a significant proportion of global carbon emissions, we have a duty to recognise and respond to the impact that our buildings have on climate change.

That’s why, together with one of our industry peers, we produced a White Paper on the subject of net-zero building in action. This report shares best practices and encourages others in the sector (and beyond) to take action to reduce their carbon footprints.

DELIVERING SOCIAL VALUE

We believe our developments should be a force for good in the communities where we operate. That's why, in 2018, we became the first UK property company to require our supply chain to sign-up to our Social Value Charter. This means they source goods and labour locally where possible, and spend time enhancing the local community, from volunteering and working with local schools and colleges, to showcasing the benefits and careers available.

GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND

Our work is leading the way in sustainability. From our Terra Carta seal award which recognises our commitment to the sustainability needs of the future, to our partnerships which are making huge strides to battle carbon emissions both through construction and operation.

We are proud to have completed the first logistics building in the UK that goes beyond zero carbon in both construction and operation. Working with our occupier we installed a solar smart system as part of our Prologis Essentials offering. The result is a building which returns more energy to the grid than it uses.
