Over the years, Prologis UK’s home-grown cyclists have been raising vital funds for a wide range of charities. Our charity rides have given us a tangible way to make a difference and we’re extremely proud that these funds have contributed towards helping countless people and charities and have made a lasting impact. Last year, we raised £34,525, a number we hope to beat this year.
This year marks our 14th Prologis UK cycle ride and on the 14th of September, we will be joining friends and colleagues to cycle either 100 miles or 100 kilometres to raise vital funds for three charities: Breast Friends, Battens Disease Family Association (BDFA) and long-time Prologis UK charity partner, LandAid.
Taking part in the Prologis 100 cycle is not only an opportunity to challenge ourselves physically and have fun, but it’s also a chance to raise money for some incredibly important causes that continue to provide vital help to individuals and families.

Breast Friends
Breast Friends, based in Solihull, is a charity run entirely by volunteers who have all been affected by breast cancer, offering support to those diagnosed with cancer on their journey. The volunteers work tirelessly to provide a much-needed source of comfort and support for those affected by the disease, and we are proud to support them in their mission.
Andrea Jenkins, Finance Assistant at Prologis UK, said: “I was touched that the team selected this charity, which is really close to my heart. For those, like me, who have been impacted by breast cancer, having an understanding support network during diagnosis and treatment is such an important factor in your recovery.”
Battens Disease Family Association
The BDFA is on a mission to help support everyone affected by Battens Disease, a rare childhood neurological disorder. The charity works to improve the quality of life of those affected and funds research into treatments as well as providing support for families and carers.
Tim Burn, Development Manager at Prologis UK, is a strong advocate for the charity's mission, as a close friend of one of the families supported by the BDFA.
He said: “In December 2022, both Holly (4) and Max (1) were diagnosed with Battens Disease following several months of seizures and developmental issues. My wife, Rhian, is godmother to Max and we are all close as family friends.
“The disease only affects around 30 children in the UK, and as such it doesn’t get much mainstream coverage or support. But clearly, the families going through this lean on BDFA a lot for guidance and emotional help.”
Tim will also be taking part in the Prologis 100 cycle ride to help raise awareness and funds for the BDFA and other charities.
LandAid
LandAid is an organisation that brings together the property industry to help raise money to support charities that provide lifechanging services for young people who are or have been homeless, or at risk of homelessness in the future.
Prologis UK has also recently supported LandAid in its annual property SleepOut fundraiser, where the team slept outside to experience the harsh conditions encountered by thousands of homeless young people in the UK.
These organisations are doing tremendous work to improve lives and Prologis is proud to be supporting these charities.
