At Prologis UK, our people-first approach means we’re always looking for new ways to inspire strength and resilience both within ourselves, and in others - whether that’s through our PARKlife initiative, or simply being there for one another.

Today marks the start of Mental Health Awareness Week, and with every day presenting new opportunities for growth, we spoke to our four of our mental health first aiders to find out their top tips on how to manage mental health and stay mentally resilient. Here’s what they had to say…

Be kind to yourself

“Whether it’s a whole day, an hour, or just 20 minutes, take some time every week to prioritise yourself. Have a relaxing bath, sit quietly and focus on controlling your breath and allow yourself to meditate. Listening to your favourite music can help to clear your mind.

“Whatever it is that works for you, be sure to let the world stop for that moment. Just remember to be kind to yourself.” - Sarah Stanniland, Real Estate and Customer Experience Coordinator

This too shall pass

“Most importantly, you should never compare yourself to others. We are all unique and everyone’s journey through life is different. Take life at your own pace and value your worth.

“And remember, on a really bad day, ‘this too shall pass’.” – Andrea Jenkinson, Finance Administration Assistant

Make memories to treasure

“On particularly difficult days, I like to surround myself with friends and family. There is nothing better in life than doing fun things with people you love and making memories to treasure.” – Liz Allister, Real Estate and Customer Experience Manager

Get outdoors

“My top tip to help your mental health is to get yourself outside when you’re feeling low – ideally into a park or the countryside where you can be at one with nature.

“Just by switching your scenery, enjoying the daylight and perhaps some exercise can really lift your spirits and start to make you feel better.” – Tom Osborne, PR and Content Manager

Whatever it is that helps you feel better, being mindful matters. So, whether it’s taking a walk to clear your head, or calling up a friend to make sure they’re okay, remember to look out for your mental health; not only this Mental Health Awareness Week, but every day.
