In June I took part in PedElle 2022, a charity cycling challenge for women working in the real estate sector and raising money for Club Peloton which transforms the lives of young people in the UK.

This year’s ride, saw 58 participants peddle their way from Vienna to Budapest, covering 280 miles (that’s without the wrong turns!) through three countries over three days.

There were so many highlights, it’s hard to pick one that stands-out! Certainly, I was grateful to spend a fabulous time with some inspiring women – who were constantly supportive, kind and patient. That level of teamwork is hard to recapture outside an endurance event but is certainly something I’m keen to evoke the essence of for Prologis.

Sadly, with the highs come the lows. Unfortunately, one of our groups did have a bad accident with rather a long road to recovery (get well Hannah!). And there were some moments of self-doubt whether I really could get up the mountains, but again amazing teamwork from the group helped us rally.

And as for the craziest moment, well that must have come in the very last climb of the tour, where we played the alphabet game with drink names. It certainly does make it harder to climb when you’re laughing as well, but it helped keep the pain and cramps go away.

I’ve so far raised over 160% of my target for the charity – and the group has collectively got to over £62,000 this year, which is an amazing feat! Thanks to everyone who’s supported me, if you’d like to contribute to some amazing causes https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Gillian-Scarth

And thanks to Prologis for sponsoring me and giving me the days off!
