We’ve got a keen focus on giving back to those that need it most, and last December our annual Dock Doors of Giving Campaign meant we wrapped up 2021 with annual donations worth £175,890 (€211, 192) for charities across the UK and Europe.

Throughout December, each of our 12 UK and EU offices took part in raising money and making donations through the Dock Doors of Giving campaign to help the charities and causes local to our logistics parks. No amount of support was too small, and we are thankful for all the time and energy put in by our teams.

Across the UK and Europe, we helped 82 charities, at a time when the pandemic means that providing support and funding is more important than ever. In the UK, our team have raised money for some brilliant and inspirational causes, including Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham and Solihull Women’s Aid, and Warwick-based charity, Molly Olly’s Wishes.

Molly Olly’s Wishes was set up by Rachel Ollerenshaw, in 2011 following the death of her daughter Molly to a rare kidney cancer. The charity provides vital emotional support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families across the UK and is well-known for its therapeutic toy lion, Olly the Brave.

As a business, we’re dedicated to making a difference and providing support wherever and whenever we can. In addition to Dock Doors of Giving, our European teams have raised money for the Red Cross to provide disaster relief support following catastrophic flooding in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium and a tornado disaster in the Czech Republic.

Paul Weston, our UK regional head, said: “Every year I am truly humbled by the amount of time, effort and enthusiasm colleagues across our business, along with our supply partners, put into fundraising for charitable causes. The effects of the pandemic are still being felt and charities and community organisations are being called up for support more than ever. Coupled with a decrease in donations, it’s never been more important to get out into the local community and give back whenever we can.

“As a business, we strive to be a force for good in our local communities and this year, we’ve supported some inspiring people and organisations who are making a real difference. It’s brilliant to see the direct benefit of our fundraising and I’m looking forward to doing even more in future.”

Rachel Ollerenshaw, co-founder of Molly Olly’s Wishes, said: “We are so grateful to Prologis for picking us to take part in this ‘Dock Doors of Giving’ campaign. Each gift we give to a child is around £500 so all funds donated and raised through this partnership will help to make such a difference to seriously ill children and young people. Our mission is to help make the dark days brighter so thank you Prologis for helping us to do just that.”

2021 was a hugely successful year for fundraising across all of our UK and Europe offices. Together, our teams came together and provided meaningful support to a huge range of local and national charities. In 2022, we’re looking to do even more to give back to our communities.
