BAA plc at ProLogis Park Heathrow

The Requirement

  • To meet the demands of the rapidly expanding retail and service industries at Heathrow Airport, BAA plc needed cost-efficient, purpose-built off-site consolidation centre with excellent security

The Solution

  • ProLogis worked with BAA to design the Heathrow Consolidation Centre at ProLogis Park Heathrow. This offers 56,288 sq ft of ambient, chilled and frozen storage to 185 airport outlets
  • 1680 deliveries a week are accepted into 19 loading bays and following the consolidation process only 341 vehicle trips a week are necessary to make 2454 deliveries to the airport. This not only brings down transport and operational costs, but also reduces the environmental impact of delivery traffic on the airport and the surrounding area
  • ProLogis developed an innovative security system that includes full CCTV cover complemented by state-of-the-art control measures
